St Paul’s C.E Primary School, Royton, Oldham
Brian Raymond came to St Paul's C.E. Primary School, Royton, week beginning 24th May 2010 to deliver some art workshops on a Carnival theme. Brian worked with the whole primary age range. All the workshops were very appropriate for each age group, the timing of the workshops were excellent and all children produced good quality art work, which they could use in a carnival parade at the end of the week. The art work produced by Brian stood out in the parade and made it a very special event.
Some comments from the staff -
- Brilliant ideas, well prepared, easy to use for the children.
- End product looked good and professionally put together.
- Children enjoyed seeing a finished piece of work.
- Fantastic workshop the children were amazed with the things they had made and the choice of materials they could use. It was obvious that Brian had planned each workshop in detail and everybody had a good time.
Some comments from the children –
- Easy to do art. Everything looked good at the end once the dragon had been made. I enjoyed working with Brian.
- Fantastic ideas, I and my group really enjoyed doing the work and everything looked great, thank you.
- It was a privilege to have Brian to come to our school and do some art with use. I enjoyed it and I hope everybody else enjoyed it to. I liked all the materials we got to use.
- I absolutely loved it.
- Thank you for all the art we did with you and all the things you let us keep.

Oldham Festival of Diversity
Leaf Arts have designed and delivered two major projects with and for the Oldham Festival of Diversity hosted by The Coliseum Theatre and are currently working on further project activity for 2008-2009.
It has been a pleasure to work with such a ‘can-do’ organisation, from project inception right the way through to delivery and final evaluation. The quality and detail of project management has been exceptional given the sometimes complex nature and needs of the projects; Project work that aims to bring different community groups and schools together to work on arts based activity. The Festival office has a very wide remit to support and deliver event activity in the Oldham Borough and it has been essential to identify organisations that have the creativity, experience and skill base to be able to take ideas, understand the overall picture and to lead on delivery, often requiring a facility for problem solving. The Festival has been able to confidently depend on Leaf Arts to deliver.
Leaf Arts contribution to The Festival’s work with Extended Schools Development has had a significant impact on the quality of schools contribution to Festival showcase events and provided an opportunity to grow this area of work. Schools are clearly delighted with the quality of artists supplied by Leaf Arts and are keen to become more involved. The feedback from the artists and project lead clearly identify how much they care about their work with lots of ideas for the continued improvement of the service provided to schools.
The Festival looks forward to the further development of work with Leaf Arts in the Oldham Communities.
