| Project Overview |
I was commissioned to work with a Manchester city centre primary school and introduce a class of children to the buildings planning process. The work they produced was used at a city planning conference to enthuse city planners in the value of consultation with children and communities. |
| Project Details |
I delivered 3 days of workshops with different class groups. We worked through the various stages of the planning process in a hands-on way, explored reasons why taking an interest in your built environemnt is important and showed them ways in which they could influence the outcome of new developments.
We created a 3D model of buildings representing a small part of their neighbourhood out of cardboard, road systems, a backdrop & sent poscards to the planning office expressing the children's thoughts as to how they would like their neighbourhood improved. |
